Zuni Pin Tie Pin Antelope Kachina CG Wallace Era Mosaic & Channel Inlay 1940s:
$299.00

Welcome.

WHAT IS GREAT ABOUT IT: This is a wonderful very old tie pin which we can all wear as a regular pin, in the form of an antelope kachina, made with channel and mosaic inlay with vibrant stones in a simple and elegant geometric design, suggesting the Art Deco period, and I date this to approximately the 1940s. It\'s an early very fine Zuni pin and I don\'t know who made it, but it\'s terrific!

The Kachina in Native American tradition are life bringers and enforce standards for living right, in the Way.The horned kachina is important in the ceremonials.

CONDITION: very good vintage, wearable collectible, normal minor age related wear and in the magnified pics you can see some old silver polish, but it doesn\'t show in person. It can be dislodged with a toothpick and a soft dry toothbrush. Sorry I don\'t have the back for it, that squeeze thing...

MEASUREMENTS:

• 1\" H X 5/8\" W
• unmarked as is usual but it\'s sterling silver
• unsigned by the Zuni artist, so the artist isn\'t known.

SUMMARY: this is a beautiful small but mighty pin with geometric appearance, suggesting early Zuni work in the Art Deco period, dating it to the 1940s. It represents the antelope kachina who appears in some ceremonials. It is made with natural s easel: abalone, coral, turquoise, mother of pearl and brown shell, which can be worn by a man or woman though it\'s technically a man\'s tie pin. workmanship is terrific and this is a highly collectible work of art.
