Antique glass in good taste – harmic.littleA wonderful condition 18th Century Dutch black
glass onion form wine bottle, circa 1700 – 1730. This free blown bottle is deep, dark olive green in color. The form is an early true globular / bulbous, onion shape. It has a high cone shape kicked up underside; a sharp, circular pontil scar; and a tapering neck with an applied overlapping string rim. Typically, these early wine bottles have minor cracks or chips. The condition of this bottle is excellent with NO chips, dings, or cracks. The surface is clean and bright, especially for a nearly 300 year old bottle, but with some surface wear and scratches (shown in photos provided).    If you are looking for a distinguished, unpolished, and legitimate early 18th century wine bottle, they don’t get much better.  Height of the bottle is approximately 7 3/8 inches and the body diameter is 5 5/8 inches. For further information see Roger Dumbrell, Understanding Antique Wine Bottles, 1983, p. 136. This bottle will make a wonderful early 18th century decorative accessory, a decanter for actual use in serving wine, or a highlight addition to your dealer inventory.  This is a desirable antique wine bottle that will look great on an early scrub top tavern table. Thanks for looking, tracking, offerding, and book-marking this fine 18th century tavern bottle.   SELLING TO THE HIGH buyer WITHOUT RESERVE! Insurance is included with shipping. Absolutely guaranteed authentic.
