A very tantalizing twin lamp sculpture with an elegant lady or girl in a satin golden dress on a
marble twosteppedplinth veryArt deco/Art Nouveu.

A Very wellrenownedFrench sculpture, \" Balleste\" made about 1920.
The girl has on a tinted & shimmering golden dress, gazing at the lamp
as if it where aroaring camp fire, with that very far away look.
Her hair also some traces ofgold in her hair which seem original .
She has some very smallrubbingshear & there with he skin in satin silver
lying in a half reclined position & leaning on a grope of boulders
Thesphereglass shade in light cream & having 4 Gilded bands around it.
Signed on the boulders at the back and all mounted on a black marble top
with sides ofreddishto brown with wonderfulpatternofstreaks running the length,
highlypolishedblack base havingthrough bolted it has four adjustable bun feet
and there are some extremelysmall nibbles to the marble at the corners.
The wiring has been replaced with an in line switch & has a 15 w bulb.
There has been touched up to the sculpture at some time.
The girl is made of spelterin thelost wax process.Balleste
Enrique Molins-Balleste was born in Barcelona, a Spanish artist who later moved to Paris. It would appear that Molins and Balleste are one and the same artist and he would use either Molins or Balleste to sign his pieces.
