These units provide a 1 Pulse-per-Secondoutput.It is used in excellent condition FE-5680A Ruofferium Frequency Standardmade by Frequency Electronics and its output frequency can be changed.
If you want to changethe frequency,I will give you the instructions and software on how to modifythis item to 10 MHZ output (1hz-20mhz).It\'s easy to change the frequency.
You just connect the item to the PC viaRS232 and run a Hyper Terminal in your windows system.Then run a software thatI give you and type the frequency you want.The change of frequency is complete.
You can set thefrequency to 11.2896Mhz.Somebody DIY it and use it on CD player.
It can let your CD super stable and enhancethe sound quality.
In practice, it seems that the unit onlylikes frequencies somewhat close to the originally set frequency. There isprobably a band-pass filter somewhere on the board that attenuates the signalfor frequencies far from the original one. It has been reported by others thata frequency range of 5 MHz to 15 MHz gives a decent measurable output. I havenot yet verified this myself. If you can find out where this bandpass filter isand how to change or remove it, it may be possible to get a wider frequency range– although it is probably limited by the Nyquist frequency of about25 MHz.
