A Brief History of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia:
Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia was founded in 1898 at the New England Conservatory in Boston. Its genesis was inspired by Ossian E. Mills, who fostered a sense of brotherhood and the advancement of music among male students. The fraternity quickly grew, establishing chapters nationwide and promoting the highest ideals of fraternal spirit, musical advancement, and loyalty to alma mater.From its inception, Sinfonia's mission has been "the development of the best and truest fraternal spirit; the mutual welfare and brotherhood of musical students; the advancement of music in America, and a loyalty to the Alma Mater." The fraternity’s founders believed that by nurturing brotherhood and high ideals, they could contribute significantly to the advancement of American music and will ship same-day if ordered before 1pm Eastern, but no later than 1 business day handling time (business days are M-F).
