1720s English Pancake Onion Bottle Sand Chip pontil:
$285.00
Up for sale is an early 18th century English black glass onion bottle circa 1700-1720. A non dug bottle that stands approx. 6 inches tall. This type of shorter squat onion bottle is sometimes referred to as a \"pancake\" onion bottle. Bottle does has a few issues. There are a few nibbles to the string lip. Some are manufacturing issues and a few are very tiny chip. I have pictured them clearly in the photos. The bottle also has one star crack that I have magnified in two of the photos. The star crack is stable as I have had this bottle in my personal collection for several years and it has not changed. Each of the legs measure 1/2 inch and the total circumference of this star is less than 1 inch. Bottle also has some very minimal surface wear which is to be expected on a 300 year old bottle.
A nice display bottle as the star can only be observed under direct bright light.
I stand behind my sales and if you you feel that I have misrepresented this bottle in anyway I am more than happy to issue you a full refund upon return of the bottle.
Please take them time to check out my other bottles currently up for sale.
