Very rare, original, 1867 Political Americana / Presidential Candidate Family Portrait Stone Lithograph by Currier & Ives titled “General Grant And Family”.
This outstanding Currier & Ives Lithograph measures approx. 12 3/8” by 8 1/8” and the sheet retains margins of approx. 1/2\" to 3/4\" on each edge (overall size of sheet is 14 1/8” by 10”). The Copyright 1867 (when Grant was already the obvious Republican Party choice for President) and carries the mark of the lithographer - “Currier & Ives, 152 Nassau St.\". It pictures Ulysses S. Grant in military uniform seated at a table with his wife and four children. All of the members of the family are identified in the legend.
This wonderful, 1867 Currier & Ives Stone Lithograph is in excellent, original condition. The Print is clean and crisp and very well preserved with no physical damage, wear or repairs of any kind. There is some light age toning in the margins (likely from a previous matting) but otherwise the Lithograph is exceptionally well preserved.
