1884 WEST POINT USMA OFFICER CABINET PHOTO 10th US CAVALRY BUFFALO SOLDIERS For Sale

Up for offer is an original early 1880\'s cabinet photograph of West Point Instructor Lt. John Bigelow. Bigelowgraduated from West Point in the class of 1877, and served as an officer in the famous 10th US Cavalry \"Buffalo Soldiers\". Bigelow served in the Apache Wars including the Battle of Tularosa, and was an escort for Geronimo after he was captured. Bigelow was wounded in action at San Juan Hill during the Spanish American War and received the Purple Heart and Silver Star for his actions that day. The cabinet photograph measures 6.5 x 4.25 inches in size.The cabinet photograph is in very nice original condition exhibiting some light age foxing and period wear. The period ink identification has been pasted to the front of the cabinet as seen. The bottom of the cabinet is marked by Photographer Pach Bros of New York.The photo came out of a large archive belonging to a USMA West Point class of 1884 graduate. Guaranteed absolutely 100% authentic in every regard.
