1890s FRED BUSCH Brewery HASTINGS, MN Acid Etched BEER GLASS ~ PRE PRO Brewing For Sale

NOTE: There is ONLY ONE 1800\'s Pro-Prohibition beer glass for sale. The first 8 photographs show the beer glass with a modern dark gray paper insert, so the etching is easier to see & camera focus is better. The remaining 14 photographs show the beer glass without the paper insert.Up for sale is this Very Rare,ORIGINAL Circa 1890\'s Acid Etched BEER GLASS marked: Compliments of ~ FRED BUSCH ~ Hastings, Minn. I would consider the etching to be even and strong.This Pre-Prohibition beer glass is made from very thin glass with a few tiny bubbles and measures about 3 1/2\" high by 2 3/16\" across top.From the limited info I could gather: The brewery was built in 1867 and bought by John Busch(father)and Frederick Busch(son)in 1870. The father died in 1894 and the son sold(actually traded!!!)the brewery in 1901 which burned down in 1904 and was not rebuilt.Unsurprisingly FRED BUSCH was considered one of the leading business men andpoliticiansin Hastings, Minnesota. He was on the city council for awhile and even was elected Mayor in 1899!!!The brewery changed names repeatedly over its history, including multiple times while owned by the Busch(s). I would say 1894-1899 is seemingly the most likely time period this beer glass is from, with earlier dates also possible, and slightly later dates much less likely. This would make an OUTSTANDING addition to ANY Pre-Prohibition, Acid Etched Beer Glass, Minnesota / United States Breweries,or historical collection.
I consider this Beer Glass to be Very RARE, since I ONLY found ONE prior sales record of an identical glass over the last 17+ years!!! Additionally over the same time period I ONLY found ONE other sales record of a beer glass with the same words, but somewhat DIFFERENT graphics. Shockingly I am unable to find ANY sales records of ANY other items from this brewery (despite looking up several of the brewery names it went by). I imagine the brewery burning down in 1904 -- 3 years after Fred Busch sold it -- may have something to do with the inability to find items from the brewery, since anything that survived the sale was destroyed in the fire.
