🧵 100 years old or so and selling for a whole 30 cents, in its day, this is the authentic vintage 1920s STANDARD new idea DESIGNER PATTERN and BELROBE 7477 for Misses with 34” Busts, Age 17 Years. This is a LADIES and MISSES LONG SHIRT BLOUSE, High Neck with a Turnover Collar; or Slightly Open Neck with Neckband attached to Collar and Blouse.
🧵 Despite not looking 100% picture-perfect, this pre-owned vintage pattern is considered “NEW” as in “unused and unpinned” because it has all its tissue factory-cut pattern pieces present in unused condition.
🧵 This pattern is the real thing; not a copy! It consists of the following:
(1) its now very “shabby chic” brown paper envelope
(2) its original BELROBE Direction Sheet , and
(3) its unused unprinted factory-cut tissue pattern pieces.
🧵 Tissue Pattern Pieces: Nearly picture perfect, awaiting a future project! All pieces are present. The yoke pattern piece #3 has a tear along one edge as seen in photo; the other pieces look great to me. The fragile envelope has done a superior job of protecting the pieces; and for the most part they look brand new!
🧵 Pattern Envelope: soft dark brown envelope with black line illustrations and text. This informative envelope is constructed of amazing sturdy (for its age!!) paper that most likely has softened over the last approximately 100 years, hinting of possible cotton content to the paper. The envelope has visible surface wear including wrinkling, damage to top corners, and a tear to the flap due to age, storage and handling, as shown. I am not sure how the torn section of the flap is hanging on, but I have tucked it into the envelope as seen in photo to further protect it - no guarantees as to whether the piece will hang on for another 100 years or fully disconnect from the rest of the envelope tomorrow.
🧵 BELROBE Patented Picture Instruction Sheet: Nice detailed illustrations and clear directions. The font is nicely done, with a artsy handwritten-look in all caps. Instruction sheet has wrinkles, tears on edges, and discoloration on one side.
