This is for a beautiful and rareantique desktop pen nib wipe from1909. The felt wipes beloware joined and mounted on top by a miniature sterling silver figure of a clown complete withfrilled collar. The figure is nicely detailed, both sides show the sameface and it displays beautifully. It is a nice example of a rare design, and it has been really wellpreserved, it doesn't look like anybody has even used it, there are no inkstains that i can see.The silver carries a full set of English sterling silver hallmarks dating it to Birmingham 1909 along with the initials ALLD for Adie & Lovekin Limited. The figure isheld through the felt with its original silver disc underneath and this has the lion passant too. It is in absolute excellentcondition with no damage to the silver or the felt and the feltmeasures50mm (2") in diameter and figure stands30mm (1.25") tall.
