This listing is for a very fine 1916 original Baldwin Locomotive Company builders plate for a standard gauge locomotive. The plate is bronze and measures 9 1/4 inches in diameter. The plate is curved to fit the boiler of the locomotive. It has raised letters.
The plate reads "THE BALDWIN LOCOMOTIVE WORKS PHILADELPHIA 43334 U.S.A. MAY 1916". This locomotive, Baldwin\'s number 43334 was a "Ten Wheeler" with a wheel configuration of 4-6-0. Baldwin built this locomotive for the Mississippi Eastern Railroad. This was Mississippi Eastern Railway\'s number 303. In 1934 it was sold to Birmingham Rail & equipment company who sold it through the Lancaster & Chester Railway in the same year. From there in 1946 it went to the Hampton & Branchville Railroad. It was sold to Leveran & Sons Scrap in 1958. The last photo in the listing shows the locomotive in that scrap yard.
It is in excellent condition and is theoriginal plate and not any kind of reproduction or recast.
