This listing is for a second original Baldwin Locomotive Company builders plate for a standard gauge locomotive. The plate is bronze and measures 9 inches in diameter. The plate is flat and has raised letters. The plate is cast bronze.
The plate reads "THE BALDWIN LOCOMOTIVE WORKS EXTRA ORDER 25799 PHILADELPHIA U.S.A. DECEMBER 1920". I have not been able to identify what railroad this Baldwin engine belonged to or what the wheel arrangement of the locomotive may have been in. (Any railroad historian who perhaps is not interested in buying this plate, but has historical information regarding it, please contact me so I can add it to the listing to help the person that does purchase it so the information can remain part of the historical record). Thank you, Pat PG123.
It is in excellent condition and is theoriginal plate and not any kind of reproduction or recast.
Please see many photos for more on the look and condition.
