Description I have been fortunate enough to have purchased two of the rarest Hollywood movie set items that I have ever owned. In the estate were two catalogs of rentals available to Hollywood studios to rent. A catalog of aircraft to rent by the day and a catalog of automobiles also to rent by the day. Both catalogs contain glossy 8 by 10 photos mounted in faux leather binders. I am listing both of them here today on .
This listing is for the automobile catalog. This was put out by "M.P. DELAY PICTURE CARS Hempstead 2714". This information is on the inside cover of the catalog. The catalog consists of 30 photographs in 8 by 10 format. Most all the photographs have a sticker on the front identifying the car and the rental price per day. The first photo shows a "Rolls-Royce Town Car at $75 per day Several others like this" The next two photos are similar cars with no additional pricing. The prices range down to $25 a day for various racing roadsters such as the Cunningham Speedster.
All the photos are in excellent condition. Any white spots in the photos I have taken are glare from the paper. With the exception of Locomobile Sport that does have some white on the photo. They are attached to the binding with metal holders. These holders are connected to the faux leather covers by cordage. The catalog was stored in a box a little two small to accommodated flat, so the catalog is slightly cupped. (This cupping can be fixed but I will leave that to the buyer to do). Not all 30 of the cars are shown as only allows 24 photos in a listing.
