Offered for sale is a rare, original 1920\'s German Tin Windup Advertising Toy - Bico Bus to Joyville . Clockwork mechanism tin litho Double Decker Bus toy measuring around 8.5 inches (21 cm) long. Fine early German lithography all around with multiple colors / stenciling on all sides. Marked on the tinplate \'D.R.G.M. - MADE IN GERMANY\' and \'ENGLISH PATENT APPLIED FOR\' on the rear side. \'BICO BUS TO JOYVILLE\' and \'FARES PLEASE\' advertised on both sides. \'TO TOYLAND\' is labeled up along the rear tin spiral staircase. Front/back upper rail is marked \'ROUTE 29\' to Joyville, along with advertising trolley type signs above the windows on the both sides. We believe this toy was made by the Johann Distler Toy KG Company, or possibly Gunthermann .

Condition:
Guaranteed original pre WWII toy and overall very good to excellent condition. Strong colors / lithography with some general play wear. Includes the original windup key, clockwork mechanism works fine. When wound, the bus moves forward while the Conductor moves up and down the aisle rotating on the upper level, simulating the collection of passenger tickets. Includes the original tin driver, standing conductor, and several passengers on the second level. Possibly missing some seated passengers on the upper level. Wheels all original, with one tin wheel loose on its axle. The toy could use a light cleaning. This toy makes for a beautiful display piece to add to your German / Tin / Windup Toy collection.
