If you're an uncompromising collector of antique technology, make sure to check out all my listings after you look at this one. I don't think you'll find a better, broader or more balanced assortment of technical antiques anywhere -- hundreds of no-reserve sales each year, almost all of them featuring eye-popping "gee whiz" gadgetry in exceptional original condition. And don't forget, you can clickthis linkto quickly add and then save me to your favorite seller list and will automatically send you updates when I putsimilar new sales online.
Here's a large, beautiful Superior Model S motion picture projection head manufactured by Coxsackie Holding Corporation in Coxsackie, NY in the 1920's. This 35MM projectorcomes from the Konrad Schiecke collection, and it's one of many rare projectors from the collection that I'll be listing over the next few months. I'm offering these pieces "as found." Some of them have been restored, others have not. In all cases, I'll try to provide an accurate description and clear photographs so that you can assess for yourself the condition of what you're offerding on.
This projection head has been meticulously restored, and it appears to be complete and correct. The flywheel turns when rotated by hand, and the mechanism runs smoothly. Shutter leaves are in excellent condition, with clean paint and no damage. There is no crank, but the rest of the head is in near mint condition, with gleaming nickel, glass and enamel surfaces. Both glass panes appear to be original to the projector, as the does the lens. The lens elements are clear, and the rack and pinion focusing control is working properly.
Due to its weight (approximately 60 lb. when packed properly) the projector is for sale only to buyers with USA shipping addresses.sale participants with no prior response history or with hidden response should contact me before placing a offer. Buyer prepays and includes shipping.
