1923 PRESIDENT WILLIAM HOWARD TAFT TYPED LETTER SIGNED AS SUPREME COURT JUDGE For Sale

Very Rare and original, 1923 Typed Letter Signed by President William Howard Taft as Chief Justice of the U. S. Supreme Court on Taft’s Supreme Court stationary. This original, hand signed letter is typed on the front page of a sheet measuring approx. 7\" by 10” and is framed for display with a beautiful, original ca1904 Pach Brothers portrait Photograph of Taft (overall size of framed display is 19 1/2” by 14”). The Letter was sent to The Honorable James Montgomery Beck who was serving as the U. S. Solicitor General. The subject is a response to an invitation to dinner from Beck to the members of the Supreme Court.

The Letter is written on Supreme Court Stationary and is dated February 5, 1923. It reads in full \"My dear Jim: / I have yours of February 3rd, and I suggest that Tuesday, March 6th, might be a good evening. I doubt whether you succeed in getting Justice Holmes and Justice McKenna to come out, but I think the rest of the Court will gladly come. It is very good of you to entertain the Court, and it is most appropriate, now that we have two new members. / Sincerely yours, / (signed) Wm H Taft”.
