Vicam Baby Standard Movie Camera 35mm Hand Crank
Vicam “Baby Standard” Movie Camera including two internal film magazines in very fine used condition. Historically significant as one of the earliest home motion-picture cameras designed for amateur use. Manufacturer: Vicam Photo Appliances (Philadelphia, Pa.) Vintage: Production of the Baby Standard began in 1923. Format: 35mm roll film loaded into 25 foot magazines. (The 35mm format rapidly became obsolete in the mid-1920’s when Kodak introduced the much more economical 16mm size for the amateur market.) Operates by hand crank, still operational. Optics clear. Can probably still be used to make old-time 35mm motion pictures. The camera\'s construction is extremely sturdy and has a heavy cast-aluminum body. Most other parts are made from solid brass. Includes 2 film cartridge cases. This camera could also double as a film projector through the use of an optional extra-cost light attachment (which is not included in this sale). Missing the view finder. This is number 737 of a prized antique camera collector. Fast shipping. Very nice.
