A pioneering and leading edge artist inthe 1920\'s, Drtikol was best known for his remarkablephotographic studies of the nude female form and his modernist art decostyle. He was a hugely talented artist with an unusual life story (heabruptly gave up photography in 1935 at the height of his career,drifted into obscurity and largely lived a hermit\'s life until hisdeath). Much of Drtikol\'s photographic work did not survive over theyears and his work in any form (silver gelatin or photogravure) isconsidered rare. One of the most influential and important artists inphotographic history, Frantisek Drtikol\'s iconic images aresought after by collectors and held in important art collections andmuseums throughout the world. Thisphotogravure is guaranteed to be authentic and comes with a hand signedCERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY (COA) with unique individual registered andcertified serial number from the Finephoto Archive & Database.Undermagnification this plate shows a tight \"honeycomb\" grid, excellentpressing of ink and a wide range of tone - all indicative of a highquality sheet fed gravure print.
