This sale is for a rare green color 1927 antique large surveyors transit Wye Level engineering scope in the original storage box, marked on the transit: W. & L.E. GURLEY - TROY, N.Y., U.S.A. - L. NO. 271393 - and marked on the box metal plaques: GURLEY ENGINEERING INSTRUMENTS - TROY, N.Y., U.S.A. - D-2 1374 - also there is a business card attached to the inside of the top of the case: W.J. RANKEN - INSTRUMENTS & SUPPLIES - CIVIL HYDRAULIC AND MINING ENGINEERS - ARCHITECTS - SEATTLE - PHONE MAIN 4022 - This is the largest Wye level Gurley made at 22", and it is 26" when extended, most typically used on railroads.It comes with a sun shadethat pressure fits on the large end of the scope. This top quality Wye level transit is fully functional and in excellent condition appearing with light use. There is nothing broken or repaired. The lens focus quite well at long distances but one of the crosshairs is crooked. The original dovetailed storage box is in very good+ condition with some minor storage wear and no carrying belt. Please zoom in on all pictures for details. The storage box measures approx. 25" by 10" by 7". Total weight in the box is 24 lbs. **The original tripod is also in excellent condition andis being sold separately in one of my other sales due to shipping restraints.**
