This sale is for a vintage Shirley Temple composition doll produced in the 1930\'s by the U.S.A. Ideal Toy Corporation. She is wearing her original dress -a teal version of the smocking dress from the movie Captain January with an all-over floral print, complete with her original socks and shoes. Her slip/onesie appears to be original (same fabric, texture and style that I\'ve seen on other Shirley compo dolls of this era) but I am not 100% sure. She has an open mouth with red lipstick and six little teeth. She is marked SHIRLEY TEMPLE Cop IDEAL N&T Co. on her head and SHIRLEY TEMPLE on her back. She has sleepy eyes which function well and she measures 20 inches in height.
Her composition has not been restored and is in good vintage condition. She has a small crack under her chin (see photo) but only slight surface crazing noted otherwise. Her wig is original with many of the curls still intact. There is a small hole on one of the dress sleeves. Her eyes are clouded as can be expected with a doll her age. Her stringing is good and she can hold a pose with no problem, though one arm is slightly loose. One of the soles on her shoes is degraded/peeling and the other shoe is missing its buckle. I\'ve tried to document all flaws, so please review the photos with zoom as they are part of the doll\'s description!
Overall she is a sweet and bright doll and displays nicely.
Please check my other doll listings (including Shirley Temple) if interested, as I do combine shipping.
