1937 Majestic 66 For Sale

Here we have nice Majestic 66 from 1937. This is a fairly scarce set with shadow dial tuning. I redid that cabinet a year of two ago and replaced the filters and a few other capacitors to help ascertain the condition of the electronics. The power transformer is good and I\'ve installed a set of good tubes. The audio section works but the set is still deaf. So more work on the RF section will need to be done. I got all the dial and control strings working but the shadow dial seems to be rubbing now for some reason. I think it\'s the light holder rubbing? It just started after I put the chassis back in the set so I\'m sure that\'s an easy fix. All the lights work and all tubes are getting the proper heater current. The tuning eye glows brightly but I can see no deflection on it\'s output so the sort in the RF is prior to it\'s point in the circuit. I just don\'t have time to investigate it. The set is lacquered. It is missing one large knob. Overall i think this is a very nice set. I redid the veneer on both sides with some walnut I had here in the shop. The hardwood sides under the veneer have developed a couple cracks a seen in the photos but have not gotten any worse in the last couple years. When I got this radio it was in pieces and the sides had come loose and a slight warp was in them when I glued and clamped everything together so overtime the set developed these small crack but hasn\'t affected the veneer. Also the speaker is in excellent shape but some vintage grill cloth will have to be ordered. Overall this is a beautiful radio worthy of further attention. Please feel free to ask any question.
