1940-1964 Case XX 5392 Pretty Stag Large Serpentine Stockman, For Sale

With no model number stamp on the tang, this Large Serpentine Stockman (NOT a model 75 “Jumbo” Stockman), was made before 1948, which was when Case began to consistently stamp the model number on each knife made – so this one’s at least 70 years old. I’ve recently acquired this from an old friend so I do not know its history. What I do no from an inspection is that it has been carried, used, sharpened, and definitely cleaned by a professional at some earlier point. Regardless it’s one beautiful classic that notonly looks great but works well, and certainly has not been used much at all. The Stag is in wonderful shape showing even wear without the slightest chip or crack. All 3-mirror blades walk and talk nicely albeit there are some minor blade rubs and insignificant pits. Still, to be in this condition after 70 years there’s no doubt this one has been well taken care of and it would make a wonderful addition to the best of collections. These are going for upwards of $500+ in condition not much better than this one, but please remember this piece is NOT new.
