1941 Wyandotte, No.1006 Army Engineer Corps Truck in Original Box:
$600.00

New TemplateToy Name:Wyandotte, No.1006 ArmyEngineer Corps Truck in Original Box
Year: 1941 Description:Some of the most difficult to find ofall Wyandotte trucks were produced for their \"Heavy Duty\" series.Wyandotte scheduled the launch of 86 newproducts for Christmas, 1941. Among them were the Heavy Duty trucks. WorldWar II brought this to an immediate stop with the companyshifting their resources to the production of M-1 Rifle clips.Only five models were produced:
  • Express Truck
  • Motor Bus
  • Army Corps EngineerTruck
  • Wrecker Truck
  • Dump Truck
  • Fire Truck (prototype w/metal wheel hubs?)

  • Made from thick gaugesteel and weighing nearly six pounds they could beeasily recognized by their sheer size and style. The cab was pumped upand streamlined. It has wing like fenders,a roundedforward-angled \"shark\" nose with wrap around metalgrille, anenormous rear bed with high sides, and solid black rubbertires with wooden hubs. No other truck looks like it. The truck offered here is Wyandotte\'sNo. 1006 \"Army Engineer Corps Truck\". Grading Near Mint itis by far the highest graded truck from the series I\'ve ever seen. It\'scomplete with original rear bed canvas covering, paint, and parts. It\'sactually unsold store stock and was never played with.In addition it comes complete with its original box and instructions! Notonly is it complete, grades VG+ to fine, but it\'s also the first box andinstructions I\'ve seen for any truck from the \"Heavy Duty\" series. It features a beautifulone-color rendition of the actual truck on each panel along withcompany name and catalog information.Size: 21\" Condition:Near mint, unsold store stock and never been played with. The paint isamazing; uniformly dark, bold, yet with aneasily noted olive colored tint. Paint is all original. Theblue and white lithoed radiator is perfect without a single mark. Thereare no scuffs, dents, dings, or rust. The only wear was due to movingaround inside the box and is located on some of the raised horizontalfender lines on the sides. No marks except for a couple oftiny nicksand a single minuscule scratch on the right rear corner. Itdoes some very faint crazing on the frontfenders and patches of the underside chassis, but these are very minorand unavoidable. The edges of the front bumper have a couple of minorflakes, but the face itself is perfect. It has both of its originalsteel ribs which hold the canvas covering in place. Both haven\'t anyrust. (For shipping I was going to leave the canvas in place to avoidscratching the sides.) The khaki canvas covering is inimmaculate mint condition. Tires and woodencenters are in unworn, pristine mint condition. The box, as I\'ve said, is the first I\'ve seen from thisseries. It\'scomplete with every panel, plus all four folding flaps on each end. Theends are interlockingand designed to be opened only once. Reclosing and reopening causes itto tear around the end corners and edges. As the cardboard ageseventually the seams and flaps start to tear. That\'s about the pointwhich this box is at. Even though it has almost no shelf or edge wear, reopening and reclosing tears the flaps off and separates the seams. Italso causes a lot of creasing to the flaps. Some \"mushing\" of severalcorners is present. As a result it has acouple of 2-3\" seam tears near the end flaps which are extensivelycreased. Someone also placed a strip or two of paper tape on theinside corners to make it sturdier, but it actually made it messier. Most of this has been removed, but some remains. This is on the insideonly. The tears have allbeen repaired and creases flattened as much as possible. The overallcolor is strong with some faint age yellowing. It grades VG+ to Finecondition.Shipping Note:As I mentioned about the box, reopening and reclosing the endflapscauses tearing an splitting. It would be difficult although notimpossible to ship the truck inside the box. That is, if I can safelyremove the steel ribs holding the canvas in place without scratchingthe sides which I don\'t recommend. Instead the box and truck should be shipped separately. The estimated amount will most probably beincorrect. Once I receiveyour address I\'ll send you an invoice directly. Please DO NOT use theautomated check out until you receive this invoice.
