1950\'s GEM Large 18.5\" Tin Friction Super Racer Indy Racing Car Toy For Sale

Selling this great car since I have obtained another in better condition.  This is a very large and impressive looking 1950\'s 18.5\" long tin friction SUPER RACER 42 Racer that was made by GEM of France.  This toy race car is almost identical to the Yonezawa of Japan 98 racer but is harder to find.  It is all tin construction with original knock-off rubber tires. The toy is marked GEM on the sides of the body.  The powerful friction motor still works well.  This racer was modeled after the 1952 Indy 500 winning race car.  

Awesome looking car with wonderful chrome detailing; chrome rack and pinion suspension, chrome grille cage, and a large chrome sidepipe!  Very detailed helmeted tin driver with plastic arms.  The lithographed colors are great with a huge red flame coming down the bonnet and off the back of the seat!

CONDITION:  This toy is complete and the friction still works well. There is overall scratching and wear, along with some light corrosion all over as shown, especially to the chrome plated parts (see pics).
