Here is a very collectable vintage
1960 Fender Tweed Amp \"Champ\"I purchased this vintage \"Champ\" amp from a Frank Zappa\'s ex-manager (living in LA) about 10 years ago.
He said \"This old amp was one of Frank Zappa\'s first amps........\"
Unfortunately, He didn\'t have any evidence letter, written by Frank,
but I could believe his \"amp story,\" because he knew many nice stories about Frank Zappa.

Let me explain details below
1. Fender (Fullerton, CA) Champ : Model 5F1
2. Production year: Stamped \"JL\" =1960
3. Cover: Original Tweed Tolex (Very natural VINTAGE look, although there are many damages at the edges)
4. Grill: Original too, (no Damages!)
5. 8 inch Speaker: it came with an original cone,
but last fall I will ask to Orange County Speaker Company to do professional RECONE jobs.
So it is now back to very fresh condition again!
6. Handle: replaced to new by myself, but an original one has been still kept.
7. Electric: Few years ago, I brought this amp to my vintage amp specialist in Hollywood, CA.
He changed some to new capacitors and AC power cords (see photos), but old parts are still kept in a ziplock.
Many electric parts are still remained from old originals and they are working good!!.
8. with an Original Transformers:
02-250-B \"606041\"=(41th of 1960)
and 125A3A \"606044\" (= 44th week of 1960)
9. Tubes: 5Y3GT (vintage RCA), 6V6GT (vintage RCA), and 12AX7 (vintage Sylvania)
They are now ok, but later you will have better change to new ones.
10. Sounds: I just tested it again. Working super good with very natural overdrive tones \"at volume 5-10\"!!
This amp is very small, but enough power at your practice times!!
11. Size: 13x6.5x12 (about 13.5 pound: very portable!!) This amp is over 50 years old.
So overlooks are very vintage condition, but sounds are still very nice!!
