For sale:c1964 Mattel Agent Zero M Sonic Blaster in original box with targets.ThisGIANTtoy measures almost 3 feet long! It was the largest Agent Zero M toy in the line, and wasreportedly pulled from the marketas it was too loud and scared kids. It probably scared a few parents as well. Measures approx.36" long x 11.5" tall x 5.5" wide.
I am selling this toy for a long time collector who wants to make some room in his toy display space. He has owned this toy for over 30 years and says it worked when he bought it, but due to the age did not want me to try it as it may break, so selling as not tested. I did pull up on the handle very gently when I got it home, and there was resistanceso it may work, but it is a 53 year old plastic toy and might not withstand use, so is not guaranteed in any way.
Two other examples in original box like this have sold recently; one for $851 and the other for $899. (not including shipping) indicating this is not an easy toy to find, and quite scarce in original box with targets.
The targets depict an airport, control tower, planes, baggage trucks and rockets; I'm not sure this was the best message to send kids - giving them a toy bazooka to blow up an airport - maybe another reason it was pulled from shelves quickly after release. But this set is amazingly intact; even the original rubber bands are taped to the bottom, inside of the box with original tape, and the foil stickers are all complete and intact on the gun.
***An interesting note - the original TV ad for this toy features a very young Kurt Russell in one of his very earliest acting roles. It can be viewed on YouTube if you search for "Kurt Russell with Agent Zero M Sonic Blaster" or put this link into your item is soldas is, as seen in my large, clear photos. Sold as not tested, please read entire description. There is no damage, cracks, broken parts, fading or otherwise I could see on this gun. The targets look complete and are even still mostly attached to one another after 53 years. The box is amazingly intact, with only minor damage; please see photos for condition. I did notice the box seems to be fortified with some clear tape inside, but doesn't appear visible from the outside. The box is bright with only very mild fading to one end, amazing for a half century old, red, cardboard box. Sale is final on this item, no returns, rebates or refunds.
