Up for sale is this VERY COOL AND HARD TO FIND VINTAGE\"THE FISHER\" MODEL 800CVACUUM TUBE POWERED STEREO AMPLIFIER RECEIVER WITHALL OF ITS ORIGINAL LITERATURE from around 1963/1964. Some of the printed materials look like they have print dates in \'63, some in \'64.It powers up and works, but needs a littleTLC, mainly with theON/OFF/VOLUMEall in one switch. When you turnit up, it becomes scratchy and really turnsup too high too quickly. It was the same on all channels I tested so I suspect the switch since its a common problem needs to be cleaned with some deoxit spray or similar product. I am not an expert with tube powered audio equipmenthowever, so my diagnosis may not be correct, but with my past experiences with my own stereo equipment, its certainly a good possibility that is what is causing the problem. Its physical condition is very good with a bit of dustiness inside the cabinet I will leave for the new owner to clean. I just dusted it off for the photos and used no wood oil on the cabinet so you can see everywhere it has a smallscratch/scuff-a little wood oil and same color wood stick would make it shine and look like new again-I do that with everything I keep and it works wonders-yes, I wanted to keep this one, but the wife says I have too many old audio toys now. Its missing two of the little gold end caps on two of the knobs, and Ithink thoseare availablehere on.These old beauties are only getting harder and harder to find in any condition. This one needs just a little TLC to rock and roll again! Definitely a super addition to any collection!!! Take advantage of our sale and don\'t let this one get away!!!
