1968 NASA JPL Surveyor VII Lunar Program Complete Photo Set of 11 Just Opened:
$49.99

Vintage and Original NASA JPL Surveyor VII Lunar Program Photographs and Prints
Complete set, 11 of 11 Pictures, 8\"x10\" glossy black and whiteSurveyor VII was the fifth and final Surveyor probe to land on the moon and was the only one to land on the lunar highlands, January 10, 1968.
Like a kid in a candy store! This envelope was still sealed after all these decades! I was tempted to list it sealed, but thought I should actually verify the contents and that the printings were all correct. So it is now opened and you have a chance to see the pristine prints.
  • JPL envelope labeled with Surveyor VII. JPL 9009-S (6-68)
  • Surveyor VII Sheet 1 of 11. P68-367 JPL 754 5M. Surveyor VII.
  • Surveyor VII Sheet 2 of 11. Surveyor Landing Sites. Surveyor VII sure is far away from the others!
  • Surveyor VII Sheet 3 of 11. Panoramic View of Lunar Terrain.
  • Surveyor VII Sheet 4 of 11. Spotted Lunar Rock.
  • Surveyor VII Sheet 5 of 11. Surface Sampler Moving Alpha Scattering Instrument.
  • Surveyor VII Sheet 6 of 11. Rock-Strewn Lunar Highland Terrain.
  • Surveyor VII Sheet 7 of 11. Lunar Rock Fragment on Surface Sampler Door.
  • Surveyor VII Sheet 8 of 11. Alpha Scattering Instrument.
  • Surveyor VII Sheet 9 of 11. Soil Sampling Operations.
  • Surveyor VII Sheet 10 of 11. Earth as Seen From the Moon.
  • Surveyor VII Sheet 11 of 11. Laser Experiment. The two small bright spots are lasers being aimed from earth (JPL\'s Table Mountain Observatory in California and the Kitt Peak National Observatory in Arizona) towards the spacecraft.
It is staggering to think that the world had barely just seen the first artificial satellite launches, and just a decade later NASA and JPL were able to land probes on the moon which sent back pictures and did experiments paving the way for Apollo landings just a few years later!
These came from a collection of a former JPL employee in Pasadena California.
Used, as-is. Envelope has been opened and has wear and tears. Set of pictures are in like-new condition with only minor aging on edges. See attached pictures.
