A very elegant mid-century collectible camera.
VERY late build date (1977). Usual date range is for the ALPA 6b is 12 years earlier, 1959 - 1965.Most probably specially made by the factory or a dealer for an ALPA enthusiast, who may also have opted not to have the rewind handle installed (it was a free option on the 6b and was usually fitted).
Comes with ALPA body cap, excellent condition.CONDITION: Cosmetics are near mint, I see only thee very small marks: one above the VF window, one below the serial number, and VERY slight signs of wear on the strap lugs. That's about it.
Mechanically, this camera was cleaned, lubed and adjusted by Radu Lesaru at 3R Camera in Flushing, New York, and everything is working perfectly - i.e. speeds all accurate, including slows, focus working well, delayed action functioning correctly, 45 degree reflex finder clean with no marks, mirror/glass bright and clear with new foam. The secondary VF is also clean and bright.
Body covering is like new, bright, deep black, no loose or hollow bits. Curtains look good also. All numbers match.
Film tested a few years ago, and was working well. Flash not tested.
ALPA Box is complete, includes inside base element that converts it to a stand, with dealer instruction sheet on how to do it. It's a little faded and marked but solid, no tears or dings.
Brochures are original ALPA and cover the body, lenses, company, price list and even the Karl Heinz registration card. All in excellent condition.
Overall, a good opportunity to get a good-looking, original ALPA body that's had the expert CLA that many, these days, seem to be in need of.
