All three slides involve caves, caverns, grottos, and things relating to spelunking.Image 1:Labeled “Blue Grotto - Capri.” Beautifully hand-tinted slide, with the area surrounding the grotto’s opening to the sea apparently entirely hand-painted, capturing a time when there weren’t 100 other rowboats queuing up outside for their turn.Image 3:Labeled “Fingal’s Cave.” If you think basalt columns are cool - and who doesn’t? - Fingal’s Cave, on the island of Staffa, in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland, is worth the trip. Jules Verne visited it, as did Queen Victoria, and the artist J. M. W. Turner did a painting of it in 1832.
