505th Parachute Inf. Regt. 101st & 82nd Airborne Div. \"Ike\" Jacket with Cap For Sale

Boy, this piece of history almost made its way to the dump! One of my pickers found this in a old suit case that had been thrown into a dumpster during a house clean out. All I have is this Jacket, Field, Wool, OD size 38R date of Mfg May 1944 and cap. This jacket is 100 percent original, nothing has been added or removed. Starting with the right shoulder there is a 82nd Airborne U.S. made patch, the French Fourragere, over the pocket is the discharge patch with Distinguished Unit Badge with two bronze oak leaf clusters. On of the collars is the brass U.S. and Infantry Corps insignia and the 101st Distinctive Insignia (DI) pin back type, no markings, (see picture of one of the pins that has rust from age). On his left shoulder which was his last unit he is wearing the 101st Airborne patch, U.S. made with 2 overseas service (12 mos) and one service strip (3 years), around the shoulder is the Belgium Fourragere. On the left chest there is the 505th Parachute Infantry Regt. oval which is hand sewn to the uniform, and a pin-back Parachute Badge (sterling) a set of English made ribbons, Army Good conduct, American Campaign and European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign with two bronze stars, he attached the WWII victory ribbon over this ribbon bar, not regulations position. On the flap of the pocket he has attached the Combat Infantryman Badge CIB (sterling) clutch back. Last is his well worn English made cap, garrison, OD with Infantry Piping and enlisted Glider Borne Paratroops patch. The jacket does have moth damage,( see pictures), and some staining on sleeve( see pictures) over all condition is a strong 8 out of 10. The data tag is readable.
