AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 410 NEWSSTAND APV CGC AUSTRALIAN VARIANT 1ST APP. BEN/CARNAGE:
$219.00

•Item DescriptionThis listing from a smoke free home is for a professionally graded 8.0 (VF) copy with perfect WHITE pages copies of the desirableNEWSSTAND EDITION $2.50 AUSTRALIAN PRICE VARIANTversion of Amazing Spider-Man#410, featuring THE 1ST APPEARANCE OF SPIDER-CARNAGE (Ben Reilly possessed by Carnage)!!! One of just six total census examples to ever have passed through CGC\'s doors to date for the APV of this issue! There is so much interesting info out there about these awesome variantsthat were created by Marvel for a short publication window in the 1990\'s, but the most stunning intel was revealed in 2019 by Joseph Italiano: the average APV print run was a mere 2000-4000 copies, with estimated survivorship of just 5-10% of the run -- that works out to between 100 and 400 surviving copies by his survivorship estimate! (Source: Italiano revealed that APVs were collated first and shipped immediately because the boat trip that took these variants to Australia was so slow; and because of that shipping delay they advanced the cover date three months (but the publication month itself is the same as regular copies, with the indicia and interior pages 100% identical to regular copies).Senior Overstreet Advisor Jon McClure categorizes these desirable variants under the \"Type 1A Price Variant\" definition. Type 1A Australian price variants (APVs for short) have been compared to the Type 1 Price Variants that McClure made famous [such as the 35 cent variants (e.g. see Star Wars #1 from 1977)] because just like those past price variant examples the indicia and interior contents of APVs are 100% identical to regular copies, and the publisher gave the small batch of copies a higher cover price. In both cases, the cover price variants were published by THE ORIGINAL PUBLISHER -- MARVEL -- at the same time as the regular copies (as first print originals), on the same manufacturing equipment, same paper, same ink, same indicia, same interior contents. In the case of Star Wars the purpose of the higher cover price variant was to test-market a price increase, whereas in the case of APVs the purpose of the higher cover price variant was to sell into the Australian newsstand market. With that market so tiny, the variants in turn are extremely hard to find compared to the regular newsstand type and the well-preserved direct edition type!Offered to you at sale! offer NOW!!!•Shipping InformationPackage weight for me to ship one carefully-boxed slab is a 3lb box; additional comics can be combined and I\'ve configured my settings to add add 2lb for each additional comic. \"Calculated shipping\" has been enabled where will automatically calculate your actual shipping cost, and the offered domestic shipping services are USPS Priority Mail, USPS Ground, UPS Ground, FedEx Ground, or FedEx Home Delivery. For international buyers, I have checked the box to participate in \'s International Shipping Program. I have 20 years of experience selling comics on and always take great care to package rare comics well for shipment — my assumption when packing, is that the box will be dropped on its corner by a postal worker, and therefore needs to be protected accordingly. I am a collector like you and I\'ve received my fair (unfair) share of cracked cases and bent-up books. So rest assured, great care will be taken to see that the comic will reach you safely; some of my positive response responses include these comments: \"The Best Packing I\'ve Ever Seen\", \"Fast international shipping, bomb-proof packaging\", \"Lightning fast! Book very well packed, could have survived nuclear attack!\"•Thanks For Looking! If you have any questions just let me know. Be sure to check out my other items because my offerings are highly curated so if this one caught your interest, chances are I have other listings you\'ll find interesting too!
