This medal is 2 inches hanging length and weighs 14 gramsof brass or possibly bronze. The medal in the pictures is the one for sale,each medal will be listed individually as they are made available to us. Theirsale will help several Carmelite Convents in South America whose items we list.

A small catch of these rare medals was found over 50years ago along the edge of one of the Great Lakes. These medals are said todate from the French and Indian War (1754--1763). This War pitted the coloniesof British America against those of New France, each side supported by militaryunits from the parent country and by American Indian allies. They may have beenpart of French trade goods to be used as gifts, but their exact origin has beenlost to history.
