ANTIQUE POSTCARDS c1930’s – X 2 JAPAN – MOVIE “DAUGHTER OF THE SAMURAI” - KIMONO For Sale

Theseare 2 very attractive and historically interesting antique postcard c1930’sThe first card is from the famous Japanese / German film “The Daughter of theSamurai” or translated from Japanese “New Earth” which was released in 1937. I believethe 2 actors are the German lead Ruth Eweler and Sessue Hayakawa who was thefirst Asian actor to find stardom in the US & Europe. Interestingly he wasthe first male sex symbol in Hollywood prior to Rudolf Valentino! It appears tobe a real photo as I can see some light silvering but I can’t be sure, it alsohas a crease running across the middle which can be seen at a certain angle.Someone has written the film details to the verso.

The second card features 2 young Japanese women one is in a traditionalkimono the other in western dress, this appears to date to the 1920-30’s Thistoo appears to be a real photo as it also has light silvering but once again Iam unsure of this. This in fact maybe a photo and not a postcard as it has nomarkings to the verso although it does have a triangle symbol in the bottomright hand corner, this card / photo is in very good vintage condition. Anyshadow or reflection overthe card is from my image and camera. Pleaseview the photos carefully as this forms part of the description.
