Pictured and offered for sale is a approx. 300 year oldpiece of Danish Brass Repousse, A Candle Wall Box depicting Rembrandt\'s,Famous Self Portrait \"Prodigal Son in the Brothel\" with tempting serpents dragons included.
CONDITIONS. The wall box is in good condition having soft dimples here and there. Nothing which stands out. The two layers, brass over tin makes for a much more sturdy piece. Soft bending occurred along the bottom ridge which would meet a table top if stood upright. Nothingnoticeable. The box lid is missing which doesnot take away from its decorative display. This box was made at a time when using candles was a daily event. Standing candles upright for display and use makes the lid a obstacle. Works well as a hanging letter or bill box.
