Here we have an awesome, very early Stamford, Connecticut soda bottle embossed " GOFF & ELWOOD / STAMFORD / CONN. "

It is listed as Bottle 59166AA on Tod von Mechow's Soda & Beer Bottles of North America website and database. The bottle has thick, icy blue aqua glass and a smooth base. Goff & Elwood is listed in E.B Huntington's 1868 History of Stamford as manufacturers of soda and sarsaparilla starting in 1868, and based on the "pony" shape of this bottle, a late 1860s to 1870s date of manufacture matches this history. Bottle has some interior haze and some light exterior wear including some light scratching and a few fleabite on the base. No chips or cracks! Height is 6 3/4".
