This is an extremely rare antique painted cast iron horseshoe plaque trivet that belonged to the Knights of the Golden Eagle organization in the late 1800s. Among the fantastic details are an eagle atop, a skull and crossbones, a cross, and the letters FVH (Fidelity, Valor, Honor) . The trivet is in excellent condition considering its age. Please note, that on the back, there are some dark spots of wax. I scraped a little away which revealed an area that is still a brighter gold color. I guess the wax has been on there for quite a long time. This very unique piece would make a great addition to any fraternal organization or historical memorabilia collection.
Measures 6.75x4”
Note to buyer: it will arrive with the wire stand removed and wrapped in paper. I don’t want it to be bent when packaged. Do not throw away the paper without retrieving the wire stand first.
