Fresh from an estate sale is an AntiqueL. Bailey\'s 1867 Block Plane. This is before Bailey became part of Stanley.
Thisis a fine userAntiqueBlock Plane with an L. Bailey\'s Mark on the blade and a1867 Patent date.Adjustable Mouth Block Plane Made in USA.Itis in \"as found\" condition.The japanning is in worn on cap and on the body, Surface rust on teh body. The sole is good with minor pitting. The mouth opens as it should when the brass knob is turned. TheL. Bailey\'s Patent Aug 6.67 Aug 31. 58 EXD logocutter has minor pitting and discoloration, it feels sharp but I would suggest sharpening. Blade is4-3/4\" x 1-5/8\". Plane overall length is 6-1/4 x 1-7/8. Selling as I found it. It will clean up nicely. Wonderful antique plane from one of the guys that made Stanley famous..
