This listing is for an Antique Rare ( Cold?) Painted Cast Metal figural Hunting Dog, Bird (I believe a pheasant), Rifle, & Tree stump scene. Its base hides a little secret underneath, it is engraved with the date march 7 1856. I would assume a significant date to the original owners. The extreme attention to detail in the design and ornate base accentuates the feel that this is a quality item. It is not marked by a maker, but is stamped 76 underneath as if that is a model / design number. It has an unusual base, with little ornate Victorian feet- which turns it into almost a little diorama scene. May be Austrian, but I am not sure. Could be cold painted. The design is excellent for many rooms and a large variety of decor styles. It makes this an excellent staple piece for your collection, one your friends definitely won’t have! A great collectors item, for use display gifting or decor.
It is in good condition, with no major damage. There is some wear & loss of material to the base of the feet from natural wear over time; being moved around etc. I am not sure if the paint is the 1856 original, but it is a good paint job in good shape. There is very little paint loss at all. No cracks or missing pieces, tree stump has one flaw near the base which looks perfectly stable.
