The body of the level is superb quality Cuban Mahogany. The wood is absolutely beautiful,being essentially hundreds of years old. This grade of mahogany just does not exist today There are some marks and blemishes that show on the surface. These testify to the many yearsof service this tool has seen, and enhance, rather than detract from the vintage warm characterwe see in this spectacular example of old world craftsmanship.
The bubbles are intact and fully functional.
