This is an Estate piece from a household that LOVED animals, particularly those made of cast metal. This one is painted (we believe) silver. There is some discoloration/tarnishing so perhaps it is silver plated??? We chose to not harm the piece to attempt to acid test it. This one is signed "Made in Japan". I am unable to find other markings but have found exact replicas on . This is a heavy, sturdy piece.
