Beautiful Castor Cooper American pewter “Cathay" pattern tea service. Four pieces plus original tray. Castor Cooper is lead-free pewter. This is terrific as it means you can actually safely use the pieces today. Much older pewter on the market contains lead which you surely do not want to consume from. This set is lead free. It has a lovely almost sterling silver like shine and beautiful amethyst finials. A more lovely tea set you’d be hard pressed to find. It is in excellent vintage condition from an impressive estate collection of Castor Cooper pewter. There may be some stickers on the pieces in the photos but they will be removed before shipping. As far as I can tell there is only one other Cathay pattern tea service available for purchase in the world currently. It is being offered without the tray for $1200. I am asking less than half of that with the tray. There were only 600 of this service ever produced. Each is hand numbered with this set being #157/600.
