1953 Schwinn Red Phantom with Front Drum Brake
Completely Rebuilt with original parts wherever possible. Some repro parts such as grips, tires, tubes, rim strips, pedal blocks, front drum brake cable/housing/clevis pin, horn and headlight hardware have been used to improve safety and ride quality.
Wheels have been completely and correctly rebuilt with stainless steel (DT Competition) 15/16/15 gauge spokes and NOS 15 gauge brass nipples.
Both hubs, headset, bottom bracket and pedals have been rebuilt with fresh lubricant where necessary.
Springer fork has been rebuilt with original parts and fresh lubricant.
Paint is original and has been polished to restore color but still shows scratches and dents from years of use.
Chrome has been polished but still shows age with some pitting, scratches and dents.
This is an antique bike that shows its age but rides like a new bike. Everything works appropriately, including steering lock (key is included), front light and horn. No creaks or squeaks. Every nut and bolt has been removed, cleaned of rust and reinstalled.
This bike has been built to ride and enjoy for years to come.
