From 1977-1986: this is a lot of 9 DC Comics, each with artwork by Marshall Rogers, the majority of them scripted by frequent Rogers collaborator Steve Englehart. Each comic is complete, all staples are intact, and are holding all pages and covers together. No water damage. Average condition of this lot is Fine Minus, and specific defects will be noted below.
  1. Mister Miracle #19 First post-Kirby issue. Granny Goodness cover. Steve Englehart scripts, Marshall Rogers interior pencils + cover artwork. Very Good Plus condition. Some spots of staining along the right-hand edge of the front cover and the corresponding left-hand edge of the back cover. This staining extends to the inside front cover, as seen on the splash page photo included here. (The effect on the inside back cover is similar). 1/8 inch spine split at the bottom.
  2. Mister Miracle #20 Script by Steve Englehart. Cover and interior art by Marshall Rogers & Vince Colletta. Fine condition. Wear around the edges as seen in the front cover scan. Store stamp at the upper edge of the back cover. Note the slight miswrap at the time of printing, as you can see a bit of the front cover artwork along the back cover spine.
  3. Detective Comics #473. This is part of the Darknight Detective run, written by Englehart, with artwork by Marshall Rogers & Terry Austin. Batman & Robin take on the Penguin. Very Good Plus condition: there is minor color-breaking creasing around the edges of the front cover. The upper staple has a bit of rust forming.
  4. Mister Miracle #21 Another Englehart/Rogers/Colletta production. Fine condition: there are color-breaking creases at the lower right-hand corner of the front cover.
  5. Mister Miracle #22 Steve Englehart writes this one under his pen-name of John Harkness. Marshall Rogers illustrates and is joined in this issue by Rick Bryant and John Fuller. Very Good / Fine condition. There is a bit of foxing staining evident at the lower left-hand corner of the back cover. A few spots of staining are also found on the edge of the inside front cover, as seen on the splash page photo included here.
  6. Detective Comics #481 features a cover by Jim Starlin. There are 2 Batman stories in this issue, one written by Denny O\'Neil with Marshall Rogers artwork, and one written & laid out by Jim Starlin, with finished art by P. Craig Russell. Also included in this issue are stories featuring Batgirl, Robin, and Man-Bat, the latter two stories featuring Don Newton artwork. This is the first Dollar Comics formatted issue, as Detective Comics merges with the Batman Family magazine. Fine condition. There are spine stresses that break color and are quite visible against the black spine border. Color-breaking creasing at the upper right-hand corner. Thin production creases run horizontally along the front and back covers.
  7. DC Special Series #15 - a.k.a. the Batman Spectacular. Features stories with artwork by Mike Nasser, Mike Golden (a Ras al Ghul and Talia story written by Denny O’Neil) and Marshall Rogers. Rogers drew the cover. Very Good / Fine condition. Pages are tanning. A thin color-breaking crease runs vertically along the upper right-hand edge of the front cover.
