EARLY-MID 19TH C JAMES DIXON & SONS PEWTER TEAPOT W/PAINTED WOOD HANDLE/LID PULL:
$167.50

EARLY to MID 19TH CENTURY ENGLISH ANTIQUE JAMES DIXON & SONS, SHEFFIELD, UNITED KINGDOM,SIGNEDFANCY, HIGHLY ORNATE, DECORATIVE PEWTER TEAPOT, with HINGED LID, ETCHED, BAS-RELIEF, FIGURED SIDE PANELS, CARVED WOODEN HANDLE & WOODENROSETTE LID PULL(Stamped \'674 James Dixon & Sons 1490\' on base)(Circa 1800-1850)Early to mid 19th century fancy English pewter decorative tea potsDIMENSIONS:8 ½\" Height x 10½\" Widest point (from spout to handle)7\" Base Width DESCRIPTION:Its condition is consistent with and commensurate with its age and antique pedigree. There\'s some black enamel paint loss on the handle and hinged lid pull. The wood itself isn\'t damage though and doesn\'t suffer any loss. This minor paint loss hasn\'t been redressed or repainted, maintaining the piece\'s antique integrity and original condition. There\'s only one small ding, perhaps the size of a sesame seed on the bottom, lifted edge of one of the side pewter panels, which occurs at the bottom-right of one of the bas-relief, raised frames, surrounding the bas-relief, tooled ornamental figuration found within its confines. This early to mid 19th century James Dixon and Sons, Sheffield, United Kingdom antique pewter teapot hasn\'t been wiped down, oiled, rinsed or otherwise touched. If the new owner so decides to have the wood handle and lid pull reconditioned and resprayed with black enamel lacquer, then we will leave that decision entirely up to them. A really outstanding early to mid 19th centuryEnglish pewter teapot by the venerable English firm James Dixon & Sons of Sheffield, UK, in well preserved overall antique condition. It remains untouched. Anywhere from 160-200 years old and counting. Magnificent.
CONDITION:Good to Very Good overall antique condition.
