EXTREMELY RARE EDISON MOLD CYLINDER 8655 BLUE BELL For Sale

One of the few still existing 2 minute Edison production molds.

Edison cylinder record phonograph mold made from copper. Thought to be part of the Clarence Ferguson Collection. Clarence Ferguson was the last authorized Edison dealer in the United States. According to Mr. Ferguson\'s recorded interview with Leo Kimmett in September 1968, Ferguson started working at the Edison Company in 1907. How Mr. Ferguson acquired this is unknown. In the interview, he stated that when the Phonograph Plant closed down in New Jersey, everything was hauled out to the \'meadows\' and dumped. This included record molds, equipment and parts. It is assumed that this was acquired by Mr. Ferguson at that time. This specific mold weighs only 1.9 oz. Inside at the top is named \"Duet Blue Bell 8655\" in backwards writing for the cylinder. Outside has some surface dirt but the inside is cleaner and does not look like the mold has any negative markings on the inside that would ruin your record. Top edge has more wear. Cylinder record molds are extremely rare and hard to find. They are some of the most sought after items for phonograph collectors. Must see photos.
