Frankford Arsenal, located on Frankford Creek, now was built in 1818 as a repository for Dupont Powder and Lead; buy the 1820s it was producing cartridges for the US Army, employing women and children of all ages, as well as muskets, etc. An original Abstract of Provisions listing large quantities of fresh beef, pork, flour, whiskey, etc rations received and on hand , for the Month of November, 1823, and signed by Lt Martin Thomas as Arsenal Commander.LT Thomas served in the 16th US Infantry in the War of 1812 including the Battles of York (Toronto) Canada, Chryslers Farm & Lyons Creek, in Colonel Pike's Army. Lt Thomas was wounded in action at Lyon's Creek, Ontario. The return is 16.5 x 14" on heavy paper stock. Ageing, edge wear, Archival repairs, Overall VG. I got a few of these from the estate of Lt Thomas, and is the earliest Frankford Arsenal item I have seen.
