French Model 1886 /93/16 Lebel Rifle Bayonet & Scabbard 3rd Variant S/N#'s Match For Sale

French Model 1886/93/16 Lebel Rifle Bayonet. The 3rd Variant has the original 25.12" length, however, was manufactured without the hooked quillon and the handle is made of brass instead of alloy. The cruciform blade is in very good condition with the scabbard showing a brown age patina and scattered scratches, dings. The ricasso area of the blade is stamped, "SC". Serial no on bayonet is 14712 and matching on the scabbard! Very good working press-stud mechanism. See photos for further details. The Lebel Bayonet was very popular with the French Infantry, who called it, "Rosalie".
