Ford cited McGuffey's Readers as one of his most important childhood influences, and republished them at his own expense to distribute to schools across the United States.
A block of toning to the front and rear free-end papers from a reflection of the pastedowns. Some discoloration to the covers and bending/wear to its corners. Other minor imperfections consistent with age and handling.
